From 1 March 2026 Ireland uses a national rent cap, generally the lower of 2% or CPI. Confirm the current rule on rtb.ie. Type the rent you charge today and, if you have looked it up, the CSO CPI figure. Export a notice draft. Stay compliant with RTB rules.

How the rent-cap calculator works

    Open the property record or the public calculator. Confirm current rent-setting rules on rtb.ie.

    Enter current and proposed rent

    The tool shows the percentage change. You decide whether that is allowed.

    Read the figure

    The helper uses the lower of 2% and CPI when you type a CPI figure. Confirm on rtb.ie.

    Export a draft notice
