Tenant rights: use rtb.ie, not this blog

SmartRent.ie is software. We do not give legal advice and we do not act for tenants or landlords in disputes.

If you rent a home in Ireland, the Residential Tenancies Board publishes the current rules: rtb.ie. Topics such as notice periods, rent reviews, deposits, and dispute resolution belong there, or with a solicitor.

What this website does for tenants

If your landlord uses SmartRent, your account is free. You can see the IBAN they recorded, send a maintenance report with photos, and read documents they shared. Rent is paid to them, not to us.

What we will not do here

  • List statutory rights as if they were complete or current
  • Tell you whether a notice is valid
  • Mediate a dispute

Disclaimer: Informational only. Confirm the law at rtb.ie or with a solicitor.

Try the software for 14 days

Record rent paid to your IBAN, log repairs, keep drafts. You file RTB registrations yourself. We are not a letting agent.
